IT’S A BOY, AND A GIRL, AND ANOTHER BOY, AND TWO MORE GIRLS! DHR HEALTH WOMEN’S HOSPITAL WELCOMES SILVA QUINTUPLETS

Edinburg, TX – On Monday, November 29, 2021, at the DHR Health Women’s Hospital in Edinburg, quintuplets were born via cesarean section performed by Dr. Fernando Otero.

New parents 31 year old Adrian Silva and 31 year old Karina Silva of Pharr, TX welcomed 3 girls and 2 boys to the world early Monday morning.

Dr. Norma Garcia, DHR Health OB/GYN, says mom and babies are all doing great, and the newborns are being treated in the DHR Health Women’s Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at this time since they were delivered at 30 weeks.

The “Silva Quints”, who weighed an average of 2.3 pounds each, are named Vanessa, Victoria, Leticia, Gabriel, and Rogelio.

The Silva’s tell us they were able to conceive through artificial insemination, and were surprised to learn they would be having 5 babies at one time.

According to physicians, the quintuplets will remain in the NICU for a few more weeks and will be discharged as each is strong enough to go home.
