Buone Feste (Italian), Prettige Feestdagen (Dutch), Frohe Feiertage (German), Goda Helger (Swedish), or “Happy Holidays” may be some of the phrases you hear at the inaugural “Joy to the World” Holiday Festival presented by the DHR Health Clinics in collaboration with the Edinburg Boys and Girls Club. This festive event, featuring holiday traditions from around the globe, will take place on Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the DHR Health Medical Office Parking Lot, located at 1100 E. Dove Avenue in McAllen. The event is free and open to the public.

“Our ‘Joy to the World’ festival promises to offer holiday-themed, family-friendly activities, while showcasing the various medical and specialty services provided by the DHR Health Clinics,” explained Veronica Villarreal, DHR Health Clinics Chief Ambulatory Officer. “Our renowned clinics are staffed by highly experienced and respected physicians and staff members, many of whom hail from various countries around the world and have proudly made their homes in the RGV. This event will allow those physicians and staff from those clinics to share their holiday traditions with event attendees.”

DHR Health Clinics can be found throughout the Rio Grande Valley, with over 70 locations from Starr County to Brownsville. At those clinics, patients will find services in various medical specialties ranging from Bariatrics, Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Diabetes and Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, General Surgery, Material Fetal Medicine, Neuroscience, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Primary Care, Plastic and Reconstruction Surgery, Transplant, Urgent Care, Urology, and much more.

Each booth at the event will be themed to a different country and offer a family-friendly activity. As guests approach each booth, they will be greeted in the language of the booth’s respective theme. Other festival highlights include an array of traditional holiday refreshments, as well as festive holiday entertainment, including a captivating lineup of live music performances from local schools, such as Edinburg North High School and other talented artists. Blue Santa from the City of Edinburg Police Department will also be present for family photographs, adding to the joyous atmosphere.
