Edinburg, TX — Doctors Hospital at Renaissance (DHR) is proud to announce the opening of their new Pediatric Emergency Room. Infants, children and adolescents require specialized care, which is why the new ER space features four pediatric ER beds that are designed to cater to the needs of younger patients.
The Pediatric ER is located within the main Emergency Department, where patients will register before being taken to the pediatric area.
In addition to the new Pediatric ER beds, DHR has welcomed three board certified Pediatric Emergency Medicine physicians to its medical staff. Dr. Khoshnood Ahmad, Dr. William J. Morrissey and Dr. Kerry J. Yancy will be on-site seven days a week to provide emergent care to infants and children.
The addition of these four Pediatric ER beds is just the first step in an even larger Pediatric Emergency Department, which is anticipated to open in 2018. Upon completion the expanded Pediatric Emergency Department will house 14 ER beds total – six dedicated ER beds, six fast track beds, one isolation room and one acute care room.
